The Sharks Academy Soccer Division has been a part of The Sharks Academy for five years now.
Headed up by former Bafana coach Clive Barker for the 1st two years
(he is now a patron of the academy) It is currently under the tutorship
of former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana goalkeeper Wade du Plessis who is assisted
by Sidd Panday in the coaching and conditioning department. The programme
offers the same benefits as the rugby division but with the key difference
being that the gym and on field training is soccer specific. The academy
currently has 2 teams campaigning in Durban Central Football Association
league as the Sharks Academy F.C.
The academy offers a well organized and professional soccer program. With
SAFA/CAF certified coaching supported by our highly qualified conditioning
department, we provide the environment and tools for our players to improve
in all fundamental factors of performance needed to achieve higher goals in
their career without compromising the young players academic future.
